USPA NEWS - In a bid to strengthen constitutional awareness among Dalits and ensure protection under SC/ST laws, the State Mala Mahanadu (Ramaji Group) held a rally in Jammalamadugu town on Wednesday and submitted a written representation to the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) demanding the monthly observance of Civil Rights Day in all Dalit villages of the division.

Mala Mahanadu leaders and members cautioned that failure to implement constitutional protections and awareness measures would invite legal accountability under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.
They demanded the immediate constitution of SC/ST Vigilance Monitoring Committees at the divisional level and regular awareness programs to prevent recurring discrimination and violence.
Demand for Monthly Civil Rights Day
In their petition addressed to the Jammalamadugu RDO, Mala Mahanadu National President Ramaji Emmanuel urged officials to institutionalize Civil Rights Day every month to promote awareness about constitutional safeguards and the rights enshrined for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. He said that despite repeated appeals, officials had failed to initiate steps for the observance, which is essential to instill confidence among Dalit communities.
Need for Awareness on SC/ST Laws
State President Tallapaka Vinod Kumar said that incidents of atrocities against Dalits, including physical assaults, caste-based abuse, and crimes against women, continue to occur across the state. He alleged that government officials were neglecting their duty to create awareness about SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act provisions in villages and called for urgent educational campaigns to empower affected communities.
Warning Against Administrative Negligence
Mala Mahanadu leaders and members cautioned that failure to implement constitutional protections and awareness measures would invite legal accountability under the SC/ST Atrocities Act. They demanded the immediate constitution of SC/ST Vigilance Monitoring Committees at the divisional level and regular awareness programs to prevent recurring discrimination and violence.
Rally and Memorandum Submission
The State Mala Mahanadu organized a peaceful rally through Jammalamadugu town before submitting the memorandum to the RDO office. The rally highlighted the urgency of conducting awareness seminars in Dalit habitations and erecting boards displaying SC/ST Atrocity Act sections in all government offices.
Participants and Representation
Those who took part in the rally included Venkataramana, Murali Prasad, Sangati Pullaiah, Sagar, Yesu Ratnam, Sekhar Chakravarthy, and several local leaders and members of the Mala Mahanadu organization.
